We are currently assisting our client, a successful private equity firm, in hiring a bright, experienced and motivated Private Equity Accountant to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for familiarizing yourself with partnership agreements for assigned funds in order to assist in the close process; obtaining knowledge of all systems through training with cross-functional teams; setting up and updating legal entity reporting for portfolio company blockers; coordinating communications to investors; preparing wire templates and inputting relevant data into appropriate banking systems; performing daily and monthly cash reconciliations and developing relationships with banks; preparing management fee calculations; creating invoices and journal entries for review; and inputting final investment transactions into the general ledger system. Additionally, you will review monthly expenses for reimbursement and compile related documentation; create and update a binder of supporting documentation for Fund and portfolio companies; prepare financial statements and other management reporting; prepare monthly investment income entries for review; prepare monthly and quarterly compliance schedules; assist in the annual audit process; and complete any special ad-hoc projects as they are assigned. The qualified Private Equity Accountant must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business and/or Economics; 2-4 years of private equity based accounting; working knowledge of partnership accounting; advanced skill using the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel; superior analytical thinking, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills; and you must demonstrate the ability to work efficiently independently, as well as in collaboration with a team.
