Payroll Specialist

  • Collecting time sheet data and payroll information.
  • Entering data into payroll and administrative databases and software programs.
  • Calculating wages, benefits, tax deductions, commissions, etc.
  • Preparing and processing paychecks and cash deposits.
  • Maintaining accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions.
  • Preparing and distributing income statements.
  • Responding to payroll-related inquiries and resolving concerns.
  • Performing account balance and payroll reconciliations.
  • Preparing financial reports for accounting and auditing purposes.
  • Preparing periodic payroll reports for review by management.

Requirements:

  • Payroll: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Responsible for entering new hires, rehires, and other employee changes into system.
  • Reconciling the outstanding list of payroll checks.
  • Reconciling the payroll tax reconciliations.
  • Preparing the funding reports.
  • Auditing data entry.
  • Responsible for various weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting on Payroll activity.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Strong computer skills including Excel and Payroll/HRIS system.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • General accounting knowledge.
  • Strong sense of urgency and initiative to provide quality work and service to internal customers.
  • Able to work independently, multi-task and work as part of a team to meet team goals and responsibilities.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills.
  • 3 years Multi-state payroll experience.
  • Associate's Degree in Accounting, HR, or Business, preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional designation, preferred.
