A prestigious law firm Downtown LA is looking to bring hire a Controller to thier financial team. Ideal candidate does not only meet the qualifications below but also has outstanding communication skills which allow them to collaborate with other departments in the firm. JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions, procedures & processes.

• Review of general ledger to ensure books and records accurately reflect account balances and transactions.

• Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes.

• Manage internal control reviews, improvements and process changes.

• Responsible for month end and year end processes.

• Complete all federal, state and local government compliance requirements including:

  • Multi-state tax analysis

  • PTE taxes

  • Business tax returns

  • Property tax and other jurisdictional filings

  • Audits

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Masters or Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or economics - CPA is a plus.

• 5+ years experience in a comparable role (Controller, Senior Manager or Manager) or in public accounting or other professional service companies.

• Experience managing an accounting function with proven ability to successfully manage projects.

• Ability to be a trusted advisor to the executive management team and partnership.
