Description:
The VOIP Phone Installer performs installation of cable, outlets, terminations, and phone sets.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Mounts TV monitors on walls and drop ceilings; must be able to install mounts on walls.
- Install low voltage lines (Cat5 and Cat6).
- Install outlets, pull cables, perform fire stopping and pre-termination including organizing, forming, dressing, and labeling cables to industry standards.
- Install and mount VOIP Phones
- Termination, coaxial connectors, light-crimp connectors, compression connectors.
- Tests copper cables to required certification parameters utilizing appropriate test equipment as required; diagnose and corrects issues.
- Performs removal and demolition of abandoned cables.
- Performs rack assembly and install, performs other related duties as assigned.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Must have experience using power tools and basic tools such as lRJ45 Crimper, Cat 5/6 Tester, Gauge Wire Stripper, Cutting Twisting Tool, Ethernet Punch-Down Tool, Cable Tie Tool, Fish-Tape/Rod, Screwdriver, Knife, level and measuring tape.
- Motivated to complete the assigned work on-time, leaving the work site clean, and presentable to the client.
- Must be able to follow a floor plan.
- Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for company assets
- Ability to multi-task and work in fast paced environment.
- Punctual - on-site every assigned workday and time ready to work.
- This position requires up to 50% or more travel. (Mileage, Accommodations, and Per Diem provided for travel compensation).
Key non-technical skills:
- Comfortability with travelling to multiple locations when needed in Michigan.
- Self-motivated, responsible, driven to complete assignments within promised timelines.
- Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Customer oriented and ability to communicate with the clients.
- Strong ability to clearly demonstrate how new systems are used to a client.
- Open to learning new things and remaining flexible in technology changes or processes.
- Strong organization skills.
