JOB DESCRIPTION
ACCOUNTANT: DETAILS

Title: Accountant
Location: Nashville TN (Metro Center)
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: $60k-80k/year (depending on experience)
Type: Contract to Hire
Hours: 8am-5pm | Monday - Friday | 40 hours per week

REQUIREMENTS: ACCOUNTANT

* BS Degree in accounting or related field
* 2+ years of accounting experience
* Superior excel skills; PC literate including experience with Google drives, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, EAPs and PowerBI.
* Demonstrate professional and ethical behavior that support Ghertner & Company's reputation and values.
* Ability to read and interpret financial documents.
* Experience creating and utilizing reports using PowerBI a plus.


RESPONSIBILITIES: ACCOUNTANT
* Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of fiscal operations of the corporate entity, providing analysis, and insight to business leadership, staff and owners.
* Month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations and transmission of results to the business owners in compliance with GAAP.
* Accurate and timely preparation of financial reports and reconciliations, including providing insight into variances to budget and prior periods.
* Create profitability reports for company President; ability to troubleshoot and analyze as needed.
* Ability to provide support for financial decisions using analytical approaches and modeling.
* Ability to analyze past results, develop financial models, perform variance analysis, identify trends and make recommendations for improvement.
* Look for opportunities to increase efficiencies within processes (examples may include improved linkages between systems, reporting, KPIs, bridging results, forecasting and budgeting).
* Research discrepancies, develop accurate correcting entries.
* Track financial and payroll information utilizing various databases and systems.
* Developing budget preparation tools, including research of past spending, and maintaining variance analysis on key items
* Maintain electronic files, information and documentation.
* Complete ad hoc assignments as requested.
