Job Description:

Beacon Hill's Minneapolis-based client is seeking a Senior Union Human Resources Generalist to join the team. This is a permanent role that is fully onsite, and 25-40% of the role will include travel to other plant locations. Union experience is a requirement for this role. This position is open to candidates looking to relocate.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement people solutions tailored to address enterprise and functional strategies.
  • Act as a change agent to drive organizational growth and development.
  • Identify opportunities to modernize HR processes and spearhead the implementation of a new strategic HRBP model.
  • Manage specific HR projects outlined in the annual plan and participate in cross-functional initiatives.
  • Partner with supervisors and managers to address employee/labor relations issues effectively.
  • Champion employee and labor relations activities to promote positive morale and interaction within the organization.
  • Provide exemplary customer service to all client groups, ensuring high HR visibility to hourly teams.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution and provide coaching and feedback to employees, supervisors, and managers.
  • Collaborate with the recruitment team to coordinate interviews, conduct onboarding, and facilitate new hire orientation.
  • Drive high participation in employee engagement surveys and annual enrollment sessions, leading focus groups alongside plant management.
  • Conduct investigations and make recommendations regarding disciplinary actions and/or employee terminations.
  • Maintain a consistent presence on the plant floor to engage with employees and build business acumen.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, along with 5+ years of demonstrated HR/employee relations experience.
  • 5+ years of strategic labor relations experience, including grievance coordination, contract interpretation, and administration.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, coupled with excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Advanced communication skills suitable for interactions with all levels of the workforce.
  • Experience in conflict management, project management, and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 25%.
