Beacon Hill has an immediate position open for an Audio Visual Design Engineer to work with one of our clients, who is one of the top research Universities in the nation.
As an Audio Visual Design Engineer, you will be providing audio visual design support on various campus locations in lecture halls, conference rooms, auditoriums and hallways. This will include doing permanent installations such as installing speakers and mounting ceiling projectors, designing classroom systems, and an element of project management. Additionally, this individual must be able to troubleshoot in time-sensitive situations face-to-face with professors/employees on campus.

Required Skills:
- Strong Knowledge of Audio Visual Design (Knowing the difference between AVD and Live Media Support)
- 2-4+ years of experience programming with Creston, Biamp or Extron.
- Skilled in architectural drawings, reading CAD drawings or blueprints.
- Experience working with classrooms, lecture halls, conference rooms, auditoriums.
- Experience doing permanent installments such as speakers, elevated screens and drop down screens, amplifiers, mounting ceiling projectors in lecture halls.
- Experience troubleshooting in a face-to-face environment.
- Audio Visual experience in equipment programming, doing sound, lighting, acoustics.
- Experience/familiarity with power tools such as a circular saw.
- Experience reading schematics, reading page by page construction design materials.
- Skilled in project management, engineering and programming.
- Familiar with working with Windows or Mac, will be working on a computer occasionally.
- Must have valid driver's license (Will be driving university vehicle).
- Strong communication, personable, and friendly.
Bonus:
- Come from an educational background, preferable higher level academia.
- Understands the challenges of this role at a university/higher level academia.
- Knowledge or experience of designing classroom systems.
