Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant plays a key role in the finance department, responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining the general ledger, and supporting the month-end and year-end close processes. This position will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the organization's financial health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy in financial data and timely reconciliation of accounts.
- Manage and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Reconcile complex accounts, including bank accounts, accounts payable, and receivable, and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and post journal entries related to accruals, prepaids, and other adjusting entries.
- Assist with external audits by preparing necessary documentation and supporting schedules.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant financial regulations and internal policies.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing accurate data and variance analysis.
- Monitor financial transactions and ensure accurate recording of financial data across multiple business units or projects.
- Prepare detailed financial reports and present findings to senior management for decision-making support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth financial operations, including AP/AR, tax filings, and payroll.
- Identify process improvements to increase efficiency within the accounting function.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 4-6+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact with team members across departments and with external auditors.
