Our client is seeking a dedicated Patient Account Coordinator to join their team. In this role, you will communicate, guide, and support patients and their families regarding their share of medical payments. You will work directly with families to assist with payment structures and processes, ensuring that patient responsibility payments are managed efficiently within our collection and reconciliation workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute the patient responsibility communication plan as outlined by the supervisor and finance team.
- Enter invoices, reconcile payments, and ensure timely receipt of payments.
- Analyze payment success rates to optimize payment encouragement strategies.
- Provide insights into the customer payment experience to identify process and experience improvements.
- Follow all HIPAA and other regulatory confidentiality requirements for patients and families.
- Collect and maintain data to ensure the integrity of medical information for process improvement.
- Demonstrate core medical service department philosophies: Listen, Learn, and Lead.
- Provide backup support for other members of the finance department.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Core Competencies, Skills & Abilities:
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently and within a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and investigative skills.
- Collaborative and able to work well with others.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new business systems and workflows.
- Experience with Salesforce and accounting software is a plus.
Requirements
- 2+ years experience in customer service or customer-centric roles
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or medical billing preferred
