We are currently seeking a Procurement Assistant to join our team!
The Procurement Assistant will report to the Supply Chain Manager, and is responsible for expediting goods, materials and services to ensure that the company's operational needs are met, taking into account price, quality and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply. Works with vendors to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of goods and services to designated locations.
What Does a Week in the Life of the Procurement Assistant Look Like?
Follow up with vendors on shortages and creatively find solutions to shortages to mitigate impact to the production line.
Review, investigate, and reconcile invoice discrepancies for outside services with accounts payable and the distribution team.
Reach out to approved freight vendors to get goods expedited at the most reasonable cost.
Plan and Schedule outside services with vendors so units can meet the production schedule.
Contact vendors to determine expected delivery dates and inform the production team of potential delays so production can be planned accordingly.
Track and process requisitions in Syteline for outside services once requisitions are approved for purchase by management.
Confirm pricing, delivery date and quantity on purchase orders against order confirmations received from the services vendors.
Maintain and update Vendor Contract parameters for outside services to include vendor item numbers, vendor lead times, and vendor pricing by item.
Track purchases for outside services and maintain a current database of vendor contact information.
Follow up with vendors, ensure purchase orders are correct and services are performed on time.
Update purchase order status with notes in the PO/PO lines as needed.
Monitor vendor lead times and notify planners of any lead time that may need to be updated.
Identify and recommend alternate vendors when current vendors cannot meet required delivery, pricing or service expectations.
Work closely with the fabrication team to ensure Powder Coated parts are produced and delivered on time.
Maintain daily purchasing metrics on the purchasing dashboard.
Work on different projects within the Supply Chain Department department as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager.
Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Associate degree in a related field.
Two years of previous related experience.
Syteline ERP experience.
