Nonprofit organization in Downtown, Manhattan is looking to hire a temp to perm Development Coordinator. The Coordinator will report to the Executive Director of the Northeast Region and will be an integral part of the development team, helping to maintain communications with Israel and members of the national staff. he Coordinator will work in collaboration with the Executive Director on all aspects of fundraising, donor management, and events. The Northeast team supports efforts to further advance fields such as nano-technology, computational medicine, and neuroscience research at the Hebrew University. Daily you will work 9am - 5pm with flexibility to work events after work as needed. The team works on a hybrid schedule. 1 - 2 days per week in office depending on what is happening in a given day. The Development Coordinator role offers a unique opportunity for a driven professional who is interested supporting a mission driven non-profit organization. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, possess excellent communication skills, superb organizational skills, and the ability to analyze and synthesize data to support the region's fundraising efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on donors and foundations to assist in the cultivation of new relationships and prepare for meetings and/or presentations
- Support all communications coming from the Executive Director - including donor stewardship letters and emails to promote fundraising initiatives
- Prepare tribute cards for donors who make tribute donations
- Support all regional events and meetings (Webinars, summits, missions, and gala events)
- Manage all event gift acknowledgements
- Draft and edit regional correspondence
- Maintain the Northeast Regional Executive Director's schedule
- Coordinate appointments, including reservations.
- Ensure moves management and relationships are properly tracked.
- Liaise with Alumni Relations, Marketing, and Donor Recognition departments
- Process expense reports for Executive Director
- Maintain filing and organizational systems
- Execute all regional events and meetings
- Assist in researching appropriate event venues, available dates, and costs
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely and correct delivery of services
- Prepare materials such as place cards, name tags, seating lists
- Create committee and Board meeting materials and attend meetings to take minutes
- Support event management
- Compiling mailing lists and create invitations using Canva
- Track event responses and reservations
- Assist in event publications such as tribute journals and advertisements
- Coordinate and organize Support post-event follow-up correspondence
- Arrange special missions - including, but not limited to, special venues, hotels, restaurants, transportation, etc.
- Special projects as assigned
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Knowledge of Blackbaud's Raisers Edge NXT or similar CRM donor management is strongly preferred
- Experience sending mail merge and email merge
- Experience with design applications for invitations such as Canva preferred
- Strong writing and internet research skills
- Creative, highly organized, and detail-oriented individual with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage concurrent processes/projects
- Superior organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Must have excellent analytical and writing skills
- Willing to handle diverse workload, with a high degree of flexibility
- Ability to filter and summarize large quantities of written information
- Professional demeanor and ability to handle confidential materials
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must be able to interact with all levels of staff, volunteers, donors, and the public
Compensation:
- Paying between 70-80K DOE + Paid OT + Great Benefits
