Nonprofit publisher located in Wall Street area in Manhattan, is seeking to hire a Temp Development Assistant to support the development team. This position will start early September, Monday - Friday, hybrid (remote Monday and Friday, in office Tuesday - Thursday). Hours 9:30am-5:30pm, availability for OT as needed. Temp duration is approximately two monthis with potential to extend.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the timely acknowledgment of donations: record and process gifts; manage acknowledgements and tax receipts; prepare fundraising mailings and emails; liaise with the Finance department.
  • Support the Development Team with donor engagement, including maintaining individual donor and prospect files, foundation files, and support the department's outreach and scheduling needs.
  • Update database records with pledge documentation, constituent action details, and manage routine fundraising reports, queries, and data exports.
  • Lead in maintaining accurate and complete donor records; ensuring the integrity and quality of the donor database, and managing gift IDs, business rules, and other functions.
  • Produce and manage segmented donor mailing lists for fundraising appeals and email outreach.
  • Assist the Senior Development Officer with foundation research, briefing packets, and reporting materials.
  • Support communications efforts by helping to create content for digital and print communications.
  • Assist in the management of fundraising and cultivation events, including the annual Social Justice Awards gala: coordinating on planning, outreach, logistics, and follow-up correspondence.
  • Oversee department interns: recruit, interview, manage, and support department interns.
  • Perform general administrative duties for the Development department, including circulating meeting agendas, taking action-oriented meeting minutes, general correspondence, filing, mailings, and scheduling meetings as well as additional duties as may be determined.
  • The ideal candidate will be good with people and will have excellent communications and time management skills.

Qualifications:

  • 1+ years or relevant experience in a corporate setting
  • BA experience highly preferred
  • Raiser's Edge experience required
  • High attention to detail, organized and motivated
  • Ability to manage multiple work projects, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility, and ability to navigate participating in different team environments.
  • Discretion and sensitivity in handling and safeguarding confidential information.
  • Microsoft Office and GSuite experience

Compensation:

  • $24/hour pay rate
