JOB DESCRIPTION

Role and Responsibilities:

- Manage the referral process from receiving referral to transcription into the Epic system

- Transcribing incoming referrals for orthopedic and physical therapy service lines

- Research potential referral sources to document the referral with all required fields when transcribing into the system

- Coordinate referrals between all location sites by checking all FAX folders and following all referral processes

- Ensure that all referral documentation is accurate and up-to-date

- Collaborate and effectively communicate with other team members to ensure work is completed timely

Education required:

· High school graduate, GED, or equivalent experience

· Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience required:

· One year experience in call center/medical setting involved with scheduling patient care

· Prior, direct experience in transcribing

· Ability to learn proprietary software applications

Professional license or certification requirements:

· N/A

Preferred Skills:

· Prior experience with the Epic system EMR preferred

· Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
