Job Title: Title Clerk

Position Overview:

The Vehicle Transfer Coordinator is responsible for facilitating legal transfer documents for vehicle transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and managing trade-in payoffs. This role plays a pivotal part in maintaining accurate records and supporting seamless transactions within the automotive dealership.

Who would I interact with?

This position collaborates closely with Sales Associates, Sales Managers, Financial Services Managers, administrative personnel, and clientele on a daily basis.

What are the day-to-day responsibilities?

  • Facilitating the preparation of tag and title documents
  • Managing the submission of all legal transfer paperwork to relevant authorities
  • Assigning stock numbers and updating inventory records for purchased used vehicles
  • Coordinating payment processing for used vehicle acquisitions
  • Inputting and maintaining inventory control data for used cars
  • Organizing and managing trade-in vehicle documentation
  • Ensuring accuracy of name and address records through regular updates
  • Overseeing wholesale deal processing and monitoring receivables
  • Validating trade-in payoffs to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Compiling and completing end-of-month accounting reports
  • Assisting in the completion of annual review and audit processes
  • Staying abreast of pertinent laws and regulations affecting vehicle transactions

What are the requirements for this job?

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Preferably, a minimum of two years of dealership experience
  • Previous experience in tag and title processing
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding instructions and documents
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute
  • Strong customer service aptitude and interpersonal skills
