Our client, a leading not-for-profit think tank, is looking to hire a Temporary Events Administrative Assistant to support the office for a 2-4 month assignment with flexibility to extend. This position will have a 3 days in office and 2 days from home work schedule. Tuesdays and Thursdays are required to be in office with one more mandatory day determined by team needs. Hours are 9am - 5pm with flexibility for OT.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the planning and implementation of in-person and virtual National Program and Outreach events through:
- Tracking responses to invitations
- Preparing rosters and mailings of meeting materials
- Building and updating meeting records in database
- Editing bios and researching new contacts
- Identifying background materials
- Logging event participation
- Drafting thank you notes under the direction of National and Outreach supervisors
- Providing general project support to the department as needed, including potentially outside of regular business hours in the run-up to large events
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of logistical, administrative, and/or event planning experience
- BA in international relations or related field
- Superior organizational and time management skills with an ability to effectively multi-task and meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail oriented with strong proofreading and editing skills
- Enthusiastic team player with positive and flexible attitude
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain the highest standard of professionalism if interacting with speakers and members; Experience working with high-level contacts or in member relations preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and to use appropriate discretion
- Knowledge of current events, international relations, and U.S. foreign policy issues
- Strong MS Word, Excel, and database skills; Microsoft Dynamics CRM experience a plus
Compensation:
- Hourly up to $32.41/hr
- Pay commensurate with experience and education
