Our client, an affordable housing organization in Boston, is seeking a temporary receptionist. The position is from Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm and is compensating $21 an hour. The role will be approximately three months long with potential to expand. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply!
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service, reception, clerical and administrative support to various departments.
- Assist staff with intake of applications; maintain records in accordance with applicable programs, and local, state, and federal regulations.
- Manage the switchboard, answer incoming calls, and direct them to the appropriate staff.
- Receive, sort, and distribute dropped off correspondence to the appropriate mailboxes.
- Track general information regarding initial applications, offers, cancellations, move-ins, transfers, new leases, and housed applicants ensuring data is tracked accurately.
- Organize filing system and clerical procedures for housing applicants; maintain accurate and essential files while confirming the security of such records.
- Assist with the production, preparation and mailing of department correspondence such as letters, forms, reports, contracts, and other materials as required.
- Maintain the reception area in a clean, organized, and welcoming manner; responsible for the inventory and stocking of informational materials, forms, and applications.
- Keep the public bulletin board current.
- Assist with special assignments as requested.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of 2 years' experience providing general clerical or administrative support and customer service.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Ability to learn other computer software programs as required by assigned tasks.
- Strong communication skills both verbally and written.
