Day to Day/Project:
This is a NEW role on the team. This accessibility focused front end engineer will be creating web pages for the client. This is a shared accountability team (Design, Engineer, and Product Owner) that rotates between IT teams. This role will be creating web pages that are accessible but does not need to be a QA testing focused job. This candidate must be willing to be flexible. There is no roadmap or handbook for this consultant. They must be willing to hold themselves accountable. This team is also very collaborative - this candidate must be able to explain frontend engineering with a focus on accessibility to designers and product owners/project managers. Must be able to speak to non-engineers. This will be a frontend engineer focused in accessibility but must be willing and able to perform full-stack duties if the need arises.
Requirements
- *At least 6 years of experience in IT overall.
- Experience with Angular material libraries (versions 8+)
- Experience using VoiceOver on Mac operating systems (not testing, creating web pages that are accessible with VoiceOver)
- Experience using Axe auto testing (will need to test their work using Axe, not testing the tool)
Plusses:
- Experience implementing auto testing (SonarQube, IntelliJ, Jenkins)
- Responsive web design
- *2 years of hands-on experience in one or more Typescript front-end frameworks (Angular 8+). AngularJS experience is not counted.
- *4 years of hands-on experience implementing REST services, ideally implemented with Java 11+ and SpringBoot.
- *Some experience in deploying to a cloud platform (Kubernetes, PCF, GCP, Azure, AWS)
- *Some experience with TDD, in both front-end and back-end technologies.
- *Good communication skills, written and verbal.
- Some experience with agile methodology and pair programming (XP, Scrum). Candidate must be willing to pair program.
- Familiar with CI/CD tools (Jenkins)
- Familiar with maintaining and interacting with databases (Oracle, PostGres).
- Has current capacity to lead a feature track.
- Familiar with software release management tools (Pivotal Tracker, JIRA, Rally).
- *Capability to perform, troubleshoot and mentor new vendor resources in all Engineering role requirements.
