Our client, an education institution is looking for an Assistant Director, Annual Giving to join their team in the downtown area. In this position, you will manage a portfolio of new prospects aimed at securing leadership annual gifts ($2,500-$100,000) and build a pipeline of future major gift donors. This position pays up to $65k based on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing annual projections; an annual solicitation plan and associated budget; and monitoring cultivation, recognition, and stewardship activity against the annual plan
  • Design short-term operating and fundraising plans including fiscal year fundraising goals; tactics to reach fundraising goals; donor recognition strategies; and operational efficiencies
  • Identify reports required to track and analyze stewardship activity including appeal results; donor movement through giving levels; donor retention; and fundraising projections
  • Generate timely contact reports in prospect database following prospect or donor visits
  • Seek opportunities for professional development that will enhance job performance, including building networks within the University and with colleagues at peer institutions

About You:

  • A bachelor's degree or higher is required
  • 2+ years of professional work experience in nonprofit management, development, alumni relations, marketing, public relations, sales or similar professional work experience required
  • Knowledge of managing gift prospects and fundraising volunteers preferred
  • Experience in soliciting and closing gifts of $2,500 or more preferred
  • Strong verbal and writing skills, high attention to detail and follow-up, and excellent organizational skills required
  • Strong commitment to customer service required
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and tact required
  • Demonstrated skill and knowledge of, or ability to learn quickly, the internal workings of the University as well as the technology tools available to Alumni Relations and Development, including Griffin (the University's Donor Relationship Management System), a Microsoft Windows computer environment, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access required
  • Strong leadership qualities, including the ability both to delegate and to execute, thereby leading by word and by example required; ability to work collegially and collaboratively in a team setting required
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to new programs in an emerging and changing environment required
