Our client, a consultancy company, is looking for a Benefits Lead to join their staff in the downtown Chicago area (the Loop). In this position, you will report to the Senior Director and work closely with HR Generalists and accountants. This position, based on experience pays up to $70k.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a point for client service issues
  • Maintaining a strong working knowledge of relevant benefit plans and laws.
  • Oversee open enrollment(s) among client organizations, and associated benefits renewal processes
  • Analyze existing benefits policies to determine appropriate benefits programs and policies
  • Manage the annual benefits calendar and associated annual and ad hoc projects,
  • Ensure timely filing of all mandatory benefits reporting
  • Lead retirement plan management calendar, including leading annual audits, filings and supporting committee meetings
  • Manage benefits training initiatives and annual communications

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; preference for a Master's in HR or HR certification
  • 5+ years of professional experience, including staff management, leading strategic initiatives and engagement with executives.
  • Experience negotiating and managing employee benefits programs, including managing and navigating benefits software
  • Experience managing a variety of vendor relationships
  • Business development experience a plus
  • Ability to balance strict compliance with a focus on strategic priorities
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with a strong customer service mentality
  • Optimism and adaptability
