Beacon Hill Legal is seeking a Litigation Paralegal with extensive trial experience for our client a Texas litigation firm. This role is 100% in office and the assignment will go through the end of the year. The paralegal would need to have strong skills for trial, including preparing and organizing the team for trial. They also need someone who has strong IT skills and is knowledgeable in working with databases. Specifically, they will need someone who can manage the documents, run searches, download/print documents from the database.
Responsibilities
Review, organize, hyperlink and maintain document databases and spreadsheets for case tracking, discovery, and document production
Locate and review information applicable to a particular case, person, or subject through online research or document reviews
Apply in-depth knowledge of legal procedures, electronic discovery and document management, terminology, and activities to paralegal tasks; serve as a senior resource for procedural questions and organization policies
Client contact focuses on preliminary or relatively routine data collection or communication of information
Prepare, edit, proofread and finalize pleadings and discovery documents for filing and service
Organize, review and retrieve information from documents obtained in discovery, depositions and hearing transcripts
Create pleadings/discovery binders
Docket and track deadlines and send reminders to the legal team
Cite-check and proofread briefs and legal documents
Assist attorney in pre-trial and post-trial procedures
Coordinate with process servers and attorneys services to ensure timely service and/or filing of legal instruments
Prepare, send and track subpoenas
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal
- Advanced understanding of Federal, State and local rules of procedure and court filing procedures, both electronic and hard copy
- Experience with preparation related to hearings, depositions, trials, arbitrations and mediations
