Beacon Hill Legal is seeking a contract to hire Legal Assistant for our client a long-time established Dallas Litigation Firm in Dallas. The ideal candidate is seeking a legal assistant with paralegal capabilities to assist one of the firm's litigation partners and handle overflow. This person will be a self-starter who can work independently and will have at least a minimum of five (5) to eight (8) years of heavy litigation experience in the fields of insurance, construction defect, commercial, premises, and general civil litigation. Must have experience in the handling Federal and State Court Dockets, as well as have the ability to assist in the preparation of appellate court briefs, indexes, footnotes, and case citing process. The candidate must have trial experience, electronic filing experience, the ability to prepare trial and hearing notebooks, assimilate and prepare exhibits, draft pleadings and discovery, answer discovery, summarize depositions, medical records, and other records, including construction defect files. The candidate must have the ability to organize files, understand insurance carrier guidelines and billing requirements, as well as prepare reports to insurance carriers and clients. Daily responsibilities include maintaining calendars and attending to scheduling details, interacting with clients, and third-party vendors. The candidate must possess excellent organizational and communication/grammar skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products and willing to learn litigation management programs. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus, but not required.
