Beacon Hill is looking for a qualified Data Analyst to join our client's growing product analytics team in South Denver! Our client is committed to using data and business intelligence to illuminate our decision making process. We are looking for a Data Analyst Our goal will be to gather data from disparate sources, analyze the data to gain useful insights, and effectively communicate this knowledge to the greater product management team. The Data Analyst will play an integral role in determining which data sets we should explore and which predictive models we should develop. They will also contribute in creating visually compelling representations of the data we wish to share.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Assists in gathering data from various internal and external sources
-Provide analytics on product and sales data to build insights into customer behavior and product trends
-Collaborate to invent proprietary computational/decision support tools
-Knows the appropriate and most effective analytical models to use in different situations
-Models and forecasts business trends based on historical data sets and planned product changes or feature launches
-Performs ad-hoc data analysis as needed
-Tracks and report on department initiatives and status reports
-Lead cross-functional projects related to reporting improvements
-May generate requirements documentation, with minimal direction, through facilitated work sessions or individual interviews with sponsors and stakeholders and manage changes to those requirements
-Creates and maintains discrete trending dashboards for utilization by the working team and the executive team
-Perform other duties as required
TOP REQUIREMENTS
Tableau Specialist with 2+ years of experience developing and maintaining robust dashboards
o Basic SQL skills required, and any other analytical software/tools experience would be a plus
o High focus on maintaining uniform dashboards that adhere to brand standards
o Our team works very closely with Product Managers, and the ability to communicate and interpret requirements and desired visualizations is essential
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills /Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Ability to analyze and interpret data and create recommendations
Ability to define key performance indicators / metrics
Ability to communicate and contribute cross-functionally
Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner
Ability to show judgment and initiative and to accomplish job duties
Experience working with SQL, SAS, and/or MicroStrategy for data exploration, wrangling, and data access
Experience working with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Domo, or Power BI
Ability to deal with ambiguity, uncertainty, and incomplete information when evaluating projects
Ability to work in a time-constrained environment with multiple project deadlines
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Proficient in all MS Office applications especially Excel and PowerPoint
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or other data science degree
Related Work Experience Number of Years
Business Analysis or Data Science Experience 3+
Related industry experience (Cable, Telecommunications,
Software/Online Services) 1-3
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills /Abilities and Knowledge
Experience working with data science programming languages such as R or Python
Experience working with data science enablement tools such as Alteryx
Ability to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel
Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
Ability to lead cross-functional teams in order to achieve business goals and results
Product management and/or product development experience
