Senior Accountant
Fortune 500 company is looking to bring on a Senior Accountant to their Accounting Department due to a recent promotion. This is an opportunity to work cross functionally within Accounting and Finance to include financial reporting, technical accounting, month end close, consolidations, financial analysis and much more. Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting including general ledger account reconciliations
- Assist with SEC financial reporting requirements, including preparation and review of 10-Q/K financial statements and disclosures, earnings releases, and other filings.
- Develops forecasts using multiple assumptions
- Improves internal, and ensures compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
- Coordinates quarterly dividend payable with the Treasury Department
- Reconciles bank statements
- Prepare journal entries for monthly close
- Prepares month-end reports, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries and required items for financial close to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to defined standards.
- Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.
- Assists with accounting-related projects and accounting research on an as-needed basis
- Records quarterly employee stock purchase plan transactions
- Maintain clear communication paths with stakeholders
- Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs
Basic Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in accounting (Big 4 experience preferred)
- Education: Requires Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
- CPA highly preferred
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of and ability to learn and apply technical accounting concepts in accordance with US GAAP and internal controls over financial reporting
- Public accounting experience highly preferred, but not required
- Experience with SAP and Oracle Financial Management preferred.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and escalate issues
