Responsibilities:

• Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, and post information onto designated records.
• Record employee information, such as exemptions, transfers, and resignations, to maintain and update payroll records.
• Issue and record adjustments to pay related previous errors or retractive increases.
• Provide information to employees and managers on payroll matters, tax issues, and collective agreement provisions.
• Process funding for 401K, HSA, and Flex plans.
• Record payroll journal entries to the general ledger.
• Process and issue employee pay checks and statements of earnings and deductions.
• Compute wages and deductions and enter data into payroll software system.
• Compile employee time and payroll data from time sheets and other records.
• Review time sheets, wage computations, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
• Validate new hire data properly uploaded from HRIS system into the payroll system.
• Respond to local, state, and federal inquiries, garnishments, and verification including but not limited to unemployment filings.
• Maintain all spreadsheets to support payroll.
