Position Overview:
The Tax Analyst is responsible for assisting in the company's tax compliance and planning processes. This role involves preparing tax returns, conducting research on tax laws and regulations, and analyzing the company's financial information to ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance. The Tax Analyst will work closely with the finance and accounting teams and report to the Tax Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for the company in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist in quarterly and annual tax provision calculations in accordance with ASC 740.
- Conduct research on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and identify tax-saving opportunities.
- Analyze financial statements and reports to calculate tax liability and make recommendations for tax strategies.
- Assist with tax audits by gathering and preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor requests.
- Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to gather information for tax filings and ensure proper tax accounting.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the company.
- Develop and implement tax compliance policies and procedures.
- Provide support and analysis for ad hoc tax projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or Masters in Taxation is a plus.
- 2-4 years of experience in tax accounting or a related field.
- Strong understanding of tax laws, compliance, and procedures.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Capacity to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
