Job Description: Controller

Company Overview: A PE owned firm, our client is a dynamic SaaS (Software as a Service) company with innovative solutions committed to rapid growth and operational excellence.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join the finance team. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, oversight of operational accounting, strategic planning, business process optimization, and internal controls. This role is pivotal in supporting the company's growth strategy and ensuring financial integrity.

Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
    • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting.
    • Analyze financial performance against budget and provide insightful recommendations to management.
  3. Cash Flow Management:
    • Monitor cash flow projections and oversee cash management.
    • Optimize cash flow through efficient billing and collections processes.
  4. Financial Analysis:
    • Conduct thorough financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
    • Identify trends, opportunities, and risks in financial performance.
  5. Mergers and Acquisitions:
    • Assist in due diligence processes for potential acquisitions.
    • Evaluate financial implications and risks of M&A transactions.
    • Coordinate integration efforts post-acquisition to achieve financial and operational synergies.
  6. Audit and Compliance:
    • Coordinate audits and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
    • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  7. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals.
    • Foster a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and professional development.
  8. Advisory Role:
    • Collaborate with senior management and department heads to provide financial insights and recommendations.
    • Support the CFO in special projects and initiatives as required by the company's strategic goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA designation preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Controller or similar role in a SaaS or technology-driven company.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience with private equity ownership and familiarity with investor reporting requirements.
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence and integration processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite).
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
