Job Description :
Summary Reporting to the Director of Financial and Regulatory Reporting, the Senior Technical Accountant will ensure that all aspects of accounting and financial reporting are in accordance with applicable IFRS and U.S. GAAP standards, company policies, as well as applicable federal reporting requirements. Scope includes a range of financial accounting, reporting, and technical research for the company as well as setting accounting policies.
Day to Day
  • Provide technical accounting guidance to accounting and financial reporting functions
  • Prepare and analyze journal entries
  • Compile the key data for the allowance for credit losses
  • Complete contract reconciliation
  • Perform accounting research and advice management
  • Draft accounting policies related to business transactions and product offerings
  • Assist with annual audits and act as a liaison for Internal and External Auditors
  • Assist and direct the accounting team with the preparation of the annual statement of cash flows
  • Assist in the implementation and enhancements of system upgrades
  • Lead and own various ad hoc projects as necessary
Essentials
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and CPA prefered
  • 4+ years of public accounting experience
  • Big 4 audit experience a plus
  • Applicable industry experience a plus
  • Strong ability to write and document detailed accounting position
  • Solid knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS and ability to analyze technical accounting matters
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong project management skills, experience in managing projects and capable of managing multiple deliverables within agreed timeframes
  • Self-starter, with the ability to motivate team members and drive issues/projects to closures
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Power BI, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
