Position Summary:

A major Fortune 200 Company is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the team in their Newark office. This position will be responsible for performing a wide range of general accounting duties and work closely with upper management.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Reconcile bank statements, balance sheet accounts, and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing necessary entries and schedules.
• Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and work with external auditors during audits.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist in the implementation of new accounting procedures.
• Participate in special projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field
• 2+ years of experience
• CPA is a plus
• Public accounting experience is a plus
