JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Cost Accountant will perform analytics of costing for accuracy and understanding of variances and support to management with understanding costing for informed and proactive business decision making. This role is based in West Chester, PA and had a hybrid schedule.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITES:

• Assisting in month end close with regards to costing related matters (production and Variance related analytics).
• Assisting in costing analytics to support monthly MBR's and quarterly and annual financial audits.
• Assisting in development and preparation of costing for monthly forecasting and annual budget.
• Performing monthly and periodic costing runs
• Monthly Variance analysis
• Assisting in physical inventory and cycle counts including reconciling inventory.
• Planning, collecting, recording, and analyzing data to determine costs of business activities such as raw material purchases, labor, overhead and inventory.
• Analyzing changes in product specification, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost.
• Preparing and estimating the cost of new and proposed product costs and new initiatives (tolling opportunities, Generator Project, Drone Project, and Seed Treatment Equipment Initiative)
• Supporting Supply Chain with monthly analytics of SG&A.
• Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
• Ensuring ERP Cost Accounting System accuracy including BOM, Machine hours and labor hours.
• Provide clear visibility of Costing to ensure Tax Team develops clear arms-length Transfer Price Strategy and proactive engagement with Supplier around improved accuracy of costing at time or purchase/import
• Support COGS evaluations and analytics for Capex and Planning Project Initiatives

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 of years of solid Cost Accounting experience in a Manufacturing Environment required
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• Must have a strong Cost systems background and have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles.
• Microsoft Office Experience Required (Word/Outlook/Excel/PowerPoint) -Advanced Excel required, Programming and Algorithm experience a plus
• Experience with SAP a plus
• Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards.
• Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports according to deadlines.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with close attention to detail.
• Ability to manage confidential information.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Ability to work extended hours during month-end closing, budgeting etc.
