Beacon Hill Financial is working with a growing non-profit in McLean, VA to bring a detail-oriented and motivated Non-Profit Staff Accountant to join their finance team. This is a hybrid role with 3 days on site. The ideal candidate will support the team by ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining financial records, and assisting with budget preparation and monitoring. Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare monthly financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
    • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial reports for management and the Board of Directors.
  • General Ledger Maintenance:

    • Manage the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.
    • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with GAAP and organizational policies.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable:

    • Oversee the accounts payable process, ensuring timely payment of invoices and proper documentation.
    • Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing and collections, to maintain cash flow.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget.
    • Analyze budget variances and provide insights to management.
  • Audit Support:

    • Prepare documentation and assist with the annual audit process, including responding to auditor inquiries.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as funding agency requirements.
  • Financial Analysis:

    • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and improve financial performance.
    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to enhance operational efficiency.
