Beacon Hill Financial is partnering with a local non-profit in Washington D.C. in the search for a Senior Accountant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the financial records while supporting the organization's revenue processes and compliance requirements. Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of journal entries and reconciliations.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded and categorized.Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Generate detailed financial reports and analyses to provide insights into financial performance for management and stakeholders.Analyze and review revenue transactions to ensure compliance with ASC 606 and applicable regulations.
- Collaborate with sales and operational teams to ensure accurate revenue reporting and forecasting.Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Implement recommendations from audit findings to strengthen internal controls and financial processes.Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls over financial reporting and revenue processes to mitigate risk.
- Conduct periodic reviews of processes to identify opportunities for improvement and enhance efficiency.Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of learning and professional development.
- Support the team in resolving complex accounting issues and ensuring adherence to best practices.Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, providing insights based on historical data and market trends.
- Perform variance analysis to identify discrepancies between budgeted and actual results, providing recommendations for corrective actions.Identify and implement process improvements within the accounting function to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and best practices in accounting operations.Work closely with other departments, such as finance, operations, and sales, to support financial initiatives and provide accounting expertise.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment on financial goals and reporting requirements.
