We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join a thriving financial services company located in central Cleveland, OH. This person will be responsible for multi-state payroll and payroll taxes. This is a hybrid role of in office and remote work!

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead payroll journal entries and support payroll processing activities.
  • Ensure accuracy of employee data in payroll systems, validate changes, and provide input on pay adjustments.
  • Execute payroll according to established SOPS
  • Review employee timesheets to guarantee payroll accuracy.
  • Conduct training sessions for managers and employees on time card and PTO approval processes.
  • Generate regular and ad-hoc payroll reports for all employee categories, perform intricate payroll computations, verify data from pertinent forms, conduct audits, and ensure payroll and related reports are balanced.
  • Prepare payroll-related reports including benefits and regulatory filings.
  • Record financial transactions, maintain accounting records, and perform reconciliations.
  • Assist in data entry and maintenance of employee records.
  • Undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Accounting required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of prior accounting experience.
  • Previous HR experience preferred
  • Proven track record in payroll processing, ideally within corporate or HR settings.
  • Thorough understanding of payroll principles, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in payroll software; advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
