POSITION: ACCOUNTING MANAGER

INDUSTRY: FINANCIAL SERVICES

LOCATION: SEVEN HILLS, OH

We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join a well established Credit Union located in Seven Hill, OH. The Accounting Manager will lead and optimize our accounting operations to enhance efficiency and accuracy. This role involves managing daily accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting financial reporting. The Accounting Manager will work closely with various teams to maintain the integrity of our financial records and support strategic financial planning. This is an in office position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounting Procedures & Security:

    • Implement and monitor accounting procedures for improved efficiency.
    • Maintain accurate and secure financial records and audit trails.
  • Financial Reconciliation & Reporting:

    • Reconcile General Ledger accounts and manage fixed assets, prepaids, and investment ledgers.
    • Prepare monthly Board reports and quarterly regulatory filings.
  • Monthly Close & Compliance:

    • Handle monthly accruals, closing activities, and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
    • Collaborate with auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
  • Support & Cross-Training:

    • Provide cross-training for accounting tasks to ensure team support.
    • Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures.
  • Committee Participation & Budgeting:

    • Participate in Pricing and ALCO Committees.
    • Assist in preparing annual and mid-year budgets.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Financial services, banking or credit union experience required
  • MS Offices, especially Excel experience required
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral
