Accounting Officer - Roxbury, MA
Our client, a public institution of higher education located in the city of Boston, MA is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team! This position will report directly to the Assistant Comptroller and supervise employees and occasionally work-study students as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accounting journal entries.
- Prepare deposits and cash reconciliation.
- Assist in Monthly close and ensure that entries are recorded on a timely basis.
- Assist with Annual Audit; including preparing of schedules and pulling selections.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of computer systems and software, particularly spreadsheet systems.
- Knowledge of Working with Microsoft Word, Access and Excel is preferred.
- Knowledge of Commonwealth of Massachusetts budgeting and accounting procedures and terminology is a plus!
