Senior Staff Accountant - Hybrid / Boston, MA

We are assisting a non-profit organization in their search for a Senior Staff Accountant! Key responsibilities include handling accounting and reporting for cash, investments, receivables, and managed housing revenue sources, such as permanent housing, donations, and social enterprise income.

Essential Functions:

• Reconcile monthly bank and investment accounts.
• Monitor operating cash balance, and maintain supporting documentation.
• Reconcile contributions between the fundraising system and the general ledger.
• Manage donor records and pledge balances.
• Conduct monthly reconciliations.
• Assist in creating the fiscal budget.
• Review and approve invoices for accuracy in coding.
• Participate in producing and analyzing monthly internal financial statements.
• Periodically review general ledger accounts and investigate budget variances.
• Prepare audit work papers related to job responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Familiarity with general ledger software, preferably MIP and Real Page is a plus!
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (Pivot tables & VLookup)
