- Verifying invoices: Checking the accuracy and completeness of invoices
- Processing payments: Paying vendors by check or wire transfer
- Reconciling accounts: Reconciling accounts payable statements and sub-ledgers to general ledgers
- Researching issues: Resolving issues with invoices, accounts payable, or accounts receivable
- Generating reports: Creating periodic reports related to accounts payable
- Responding to inquiries: Answering questions from vendors and internal staff
- Maintaining records: Maintaining and updating accounts payable ledgers and vendor files
- Setting up new accounts: Setting up new accounts when changes occur
- Processing expense reports: Receiving and verifying expense reports
- Identifying discounts: Identifying discount opportunities
- Issuing purchase order amendments: Issuing purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed
