We are the exclusive recruiters to hire a General Counsel for a privately held FinTech company. This company has a strong track record and is poised for growth and opportunity with an experienced General Counsel to lead and build out the company's legal operations, serve on the Executive Committee, mitigate risk, manage and mentor other legal staff and be a strategic partner in moving the company forward.

Key Duties Include:

• Support sales and all business lines
• Oversee compliance and risk management
• Improve existing and build new legal processes and procedures and other infrastructure
• Support new product roll outs and advise of legal implications
• Oversee and improve contract management and other commercial transactions
• Handle daily general corporate matters and governance
• Serve as an integral member of the executive team and work closely with the Board

The ideal candidate will have:

• At least 5 years' experience as a General Counsel or the equivalent "acting" GC in hands on, generalist role with significant responsibility in consumer goods/services company
• Have solid training and experience in corporate legal affairs and some experience with securities compliance and filings
• Fintech experience and knowledge a plus
• Motivation to be a hands on General Counsel with understanding of business needs
• Enjoy working in a collaborative environment and mentoring junior legal personnel

Austin, Texas location is strongly preferred but open to remote for the right candidate.
