Our client, a Biotechnology company in Boston is looking for a Director of Human Resources!

Main Responsibilities:

  • HR Strategy: Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the overall business objectives of the company to attract, retain, and develop top talent. Provide guidance and expertise on HR policies, practices, and programs that comply with federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Talent Acquisition: Lead the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, selection, and onboarding of qualified candidates for various positions, ranging from G&A, scientific research and development to clinical trials and regulatory affairs. Partner with hiring managers to develop job descriptions, conduct interviews, and negotiate offers to ensure that the best candidates are hired.
  • Employee Relations: Establish and maintain positive employee relations by providing guidance and support on employee matters, managing employee performance and development, conducting investigations, and resolving employee conflicts or issues in a fair and consistent manner. Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive work culture and enhance employee satisfaction and productivity.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Oversee the design, implementation, and administration of compensation and benefits programs, including salary structures, incentive plans, and employee benefit plans. Monitor industry trends and benchmarking data to ensure that our compensation and benefits packages are competitive and aligned with the market standards.
  • HR Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations, including EEO, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, and other applicable laws. Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that promote compliance and mitigate risks associated with HR-related legal and regulatory matters.
  • Performance Management: Develop and implement performance management programs, including goal-setting, performance reviews, and performance improvement plans. Provide coaching and feedback to managers and employees to enhance performance, productivity, and employee development.
  • Training and Development: Identify and address training and development needs for employees at all levels to support their growth and development. Collaborate with department heads and subject matter experts to design and deliver training programs that enhance employees' skills, knowledge, and capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 7-10 years of progressive HR experience, preferably within the life sciences or biotechnology industry.
  • Professional certification in HR (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, HR compliance, performance management, and training and development.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to provide strategic direction and guidance to the HR team and the organization.
  • Ability to work independently, manage confidential information with discretion, and make sound judgments and decisions.
