This organization is seeking a Systems Engineer III
who will serve as a member of Information Systems, Infrastructure and Security (ISSI) team managing
cloud services, middleware applications, LAN and WAN architecture and services, physical and virtual
servers, directory and messaging services, and all aspects of Information Security.
This position will analyze, design, and coordinate the implementation and ongoing management of
computer network communication systems across multiple computer platforms and protocols. The
position shares responsibility for formulating and establishing agency policies, procedures, and
guidelines, for monitoring, managing, and maintaining critical systems in a complex server and network
environment. This position works within the ISSI team to provide advanced technical expertise and
guidance to management on the implementation of secure database, network, and application services.
Under the general supervision of the Instructional Technology Services Director, this position provides
leadership and works within a collaborative team environment to set advanced technical direction,
problem solve, troubleshoot, diagnose, evaluate, and resolve information systems infrastructure and
security issues. This position performs network-wide communication system monitoring and system
capacity analysis of agency technical services and provides continuous evaluation to maintain optimal
information systems infrastructure and security.
Core Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage cloud infrastructure using services such as Azure or other cloud
services.
- Implement and manage M365 applications including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online
and OneDrive for Business.
- Implement and manage M365 security services such as Advanced Threat Protection, Cloud App
Security, and Azure Information Protection.
- Implement and manage on-premises server, storage, network, and backup services.
- Support Microsoft Teams Phone services including auto attendants, call queues and PSTN
connectivity.
- Develop and implement automation solutions using scripting languages such as PowerShell or
Python.
- Collaborate with other engineers, project managers, and agency stakeholders to understand
business requirements, propose solutions, and provide updates on project progress.
Required Skills:
- A minimum of 10 Years of experience as a Systems Engineer/Administrator or similar role.
- Strong technical skills in M365 services, Windows Server, and Cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
- Familiarity with M365 security services such as Advanced Threat Protection, Cloud App Security,
and Azure Information Protection.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.

Preferred Experience:
