Beacon Hill has an immediate position open for a Java Developer to work with one of our clients, who is a leader in the Biometrics Industry.

As a Java Developer you will assist in developing software for government databases. This individual will work independently designing, testing, and developing with Java, J2EE, and Spring Framework.

Location: Greater Sacramento - Hybrid

Duration: 12 month Contract to Perm

Required Skills:

• 4-5 years' experience with Java (version 7 and above) and J2EE enterprise application development
• 4-5 years' experience with Spring Framework (version 4 and above) and Hibernate/ JPA (java persistence or Java API)
• 2-3 years' experience with SQL (will be writing SQL and validating unit tests)
• 1-3 years' experience with process management tools such as Activiti / JBPM workflow development
• Good communication and team player.

Responsibilities:

• Will be a part of the data migration team, Java code has already been developed and tested but this developer will be modifying and improving code while creating new implementations based off of unit testing.

• Will need to have an understanding of current code in place and make recommendations on how code can be modified, improved, or standardized.

• Analyze users' needs and then design, test, and develop software to meet those needs. Recommend software upgrades for customers' existing programs and systems. Design each piece of an application or system and plan how the pieces will work together.
