Summary

Our client is looking for a highly motivated Lab Coordinator to help manage day-to-day activities in their growing development lab space in Waltham, MA. This role will be vital in the tracking and stocking lab consumables, shipping and receiving of supplies and equipment, preparation of cell media, glass washing and sterilization, and communicating with engineers, technicians, and vendors while they are visiting the site. Experience working in research laboratories is a plus but not a requirement, all required training will be provided before you begin working in the lab. Ideal candidates will be flexible, have excellent communication skills, and be customer focused.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day activities and organization within the laboratory, including asset management, inventory management, and space management
  • Assist in the implementation of site policies and procedures to assure internal compliance e.g., lab attire and hygiene and safe work practices
  • Assist with lab relationships, including with outside vendors, internal franchises, and other network nodes
  • Serve as the primary contact for shipping and receiving, including pallet shipments, parcel deliveries, temperature sensitive packages, gas cylinder drop off/pick up, etc.
  • Maintain point of use for lab supplies and commonly used reagents
  • Manage common lab stocks and common inventory items
  • Assist researchers with media preparation and pH adjustment
  • Escort vendors and technicians while they are performing work onsite

Requirements

  • Experience in a Life Science environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar environment
  • Experience working with external vendors
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly developed verbal and communication skills
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Flexible to changes in routine
