Job Summary: We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to support our finance department in maintaining accurate financial records and facilitating financial transactions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest level of accuracy in financial reporting. This role will be based at our Seattle office and will report to the Finance Manager.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process vendor invoices, prepare payment batches, and ensure timely and accurate payments. Manage customer invoices, monitor receivables, and follow up on overdue accounts.
General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjustments as needed. Assist in month-end and year-end close processes.
Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions regularly to ensure accuracy in financial records.
Expense Reports: Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets. Generate financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making.
Tax Compliance: Assist in preparing tax-related documents and filings, including sales tax, payroll tax, and income tax.
Audit Support: Collaborate with auditors during annual audits, providing requested documentation and explanations.
Compliance: Stay up-to-date with accounting regulations and ensure the company's financial practices comply with relevant laws and standards.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in financial operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2+ years of relevant accounting experience.
- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
