We are currently recruiting for a temporary Litigation Attorney with broad experience to start on Monday 9/18. This position would be temp only without any possibly to hire, and to start 100% in person then possibility of remote 1-2 days. Interviews to be conducted remotely.

Position: Temporary Litigation Support Attorney
Duration: Monday 9/18/23 - Thursday 11/9/23 (up to 8 weeks)
Hours (100% in person to start):
M 8:30AM- 8:00PM, T- TH 8:30AM- 5:00PM, F 8:30AM- 12:00PM
100% in person to start, then possibility of remote work 1-2 days
Break: 45-minute lunch break; two 15 min breaks morning/afternoon.
Mondays additional 15 mins in the evening
Pay: $38-$48/hour (based on experience)
Attire: Business
Essential Duties and Responsibility:
Conducts the prosecution and defense of civil litigation in state and federal court proceedings and administrative proceedings to which the City is a party and provides representation as to a broad variety of municipal issues. Drafts legislation and a wide range of legal instruments and renders advisory opinions to City officials, boards, and commissions. Assists in logging complaints, delivering mail, and answering phones as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
Must have a JD degree from an accredited law school, be a member of the Massachusetts Bar admitted to practice before state and federal courts and have a minimum of two years' experience practicing law. Some experience in civil litigation at least with discovery and pleadings is strongly preferred; experience in municipal law and in employment, zoning, real estate, construction, contracts, personal injury, civil rights and/or environmental litigation highly desirable.
