Senior Java Software Engineer - 100% Remote_Workday Integration Experience

Essential Skills:

• Previous experience as a Senior or Lead Engineer
• Proven experience in an agile product model, specializing in delivering solutions incrementally.
• Expertise in Java and a keen ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies.
• Proficiency in Java, OpenShift, Bitbucket, Bamboo, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Background in test automation
• Coaching junior developers is developing software following industry best practices.

As a Sr Engineer, you will work on engineering with technologies including Java, Spring Boot, MongoDB/DynamoDB/SQL, Kafka, OpenShift, Azure, TypeScript, ReactJS, AWS and Git. You should have experience in building scalable RESTful APIs in Java using Spring Boot. You should have knowledge about application security patterns (OAuth 2.0/SAML), web design and accessibility standards. You should be able to contribute to different aspects of the test strategy adopted for our applications. Your experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines, observability and monitoring tools will enable you in this role.

As a Senior Engineer you will be considered a technical expert in one or more phases of application and/or systems engineering. This includes providing design recommendations based on long-term IT organization strategy and expertise regarding the integration of applications across the business. You will determine specifications, plan, design, and develop business critical software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processes - either individually or in concert with product team.

• Work with a variety of technologies including Java, Spring Boot, MongoDB/DynamoDB/SQL, Kafka, OpenShift, Azure, AWS, TypeScript, ReactJS,
• Develop scalable Java REST APIs using Spring Boot
• Writing effective unit tests
• Manage source code
• Create and Use Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines.
• Use observability and monitoring tools.
• Member of team that can work independently, as well as collaboratively with team, in developing core software for the product that delivers outcomes.
• Consistent and dependable in delivering core software that delivers outcomes and meets/exceeds the teams' expectations for stability, scalability, resilience, etc.

DevOps

• Participates and provides guidance to adopt DevOps best practices for the team and organization.
• Participates in the team-level rotational support and builds knowledge on focus subsystems.
• Coaching Engineers
• Provide guidance to junior engineers to help them learn foundational software engineering skills.
• Provide technical expertise and help the team to solve technical/software issues.
• Provide trainings to the junior developers and groom them.
• Provide domain expertise on software products in their area to junior engineers to help them learn/grow their skills and contribute as part of the team.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or other technical field or equivalent work experience
• 7+ years of experience in engineering environments, taking abstract concepts and ideas and formulating a detailed software engineering plan to deliver.
• Sound knowledge of industry standard Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices
• Sound knowledge of version and revision control practices and procedures
• Sound knowledge of systems design concepts that provide security and stability.
• Expertise in debugging code and/or complex log files for troubleshooting and analysis of product defects
• Expert knowledge/experience with querying databases for complex data lookup/update
• Perform code reviews with associate team members.
