Looking for someone with enough experience to hit the ground running.
Mostly working with their back end testing so they need a good understanding of SQL and data validation.
Someone whos experience is mostly with backend and partly UI.
They want functional testing, API testing, and service testing.
This is apart of the project for getting apps off mainframe and onto more modern databases.
Services testing making sure the API's are set up correctly. Most applications do not hit the databases directly. They have numerous data sources as they are still going through on-going modernization. Tracing the data, validating it functionally in an application from the user perspective. 70/30 towards back end versus UI.
Postman is most used testing tool, number of SQL tools for testing. DB verse is another tool. TFS and azure devops is another tool for test case management and defect tracking. Run all agile projects in TFS or Azure Devops
What level of experience/ years of experience is needed?
3-5 years large enterprise environment, this person needs to be strong as they will be working independently. Someone who understands the importance of coordinating with team members whenever altering things to applications. 250 services all interdependent so one change can affect a lot.

In line with their ongoing modernization projects moving apps from legacy systems to new platforms Responsible for defining, planning, leading and executing project testing activities and complex application tests by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Initiate, plan, execute, manage and complete Quality Assurance (QA) activities related to complex applications and system implementation projects.
Coordinate and manage holistic testing efforts for multiple projects and software releases, including integration, system, regression, performance and user acceptance testing.
Develop, execute and maintain test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test suites and cases.
Document, analyze, and evaluate test results and defects, track and manage defects, and work with development team and business to troubleshoot issues.
Coordinate and monitor defect tracking activities, for assigned projects.
Lead and coordinate test schedules, environments and configuration requirements for assigned testing activities.
Provide testing estimates for resource allocation and timelines for assigned projects.
Partner with Business Analysts and Project Managers to ensure requirements are documented, understood, adequately covered by tests, and accurately tested.
Identify, define, track and report QA metrics for assigned projects.
Provide input on go / no-go decisions for production releases.
Drive established (QA) practices and methodology for Uline's IT Project Services teams, striving for consistency across projects.
Collaborate with QA Manager and QA Team to develop, implement and improve innovative QA capabilities, approaches and services.
Monitor and evaluate QA activities for assigned projects.
Guide and coach teams to adopt and implement applicable testing practices and expectations.
Oversee test automation usage for assigned projects to optimize project quality and delivery.
Work under limited supervision with wide latitude.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical discipline.
6+ years of QA experience in an IT environment.
2+ years of experience with software test tools.
Comprehensive experience with SDLC (software development life cycle).
Experience in agile and waterfall methodologies.
Comprehensive knowledge of QA processes, practices, and systems.
Extensive experience planning, executing and managing integration, system, regression and user acceptance testing.
Ability to coordinate and lead QA activities, tasks, and resources under time constraints across concurrent projects.
Influential, confident and exacting.
Experience with Visual Studio Team Foundation Server (TFS) / Visual Studio Test Professional and Microsoft Test Manager are a plus.
Knowledge of supply chain and logistics is a plus.
Development background is a plus.
