Responsible for engineering activities that maintain and enhance the company's telecommunications and signal processing hardware, software and electrical systems. Works with technical operations staff on system design and configuration. Works with design teams and advises team leaders.


Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

Lead the designs, implements, monitors, enhances and troubleshoots systems in assigned areas.

Lead the analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary.

Lead architecture and reviews system designs.

Lead Engineering Technical support and guidance to regional personnel and ensure all technical integration, changes, standards and documentation are met.

Mentors and guides the work of technical staff.

Reviews work plans and designs and advises on improvements.

Adheres to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.

Knows, understands and follows company policy.

Performs other duties as requested by manager.


Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

· The Principle Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting critical production issues across the platform (Weblogic, RHEL, Oracle) and applications (AppDynamics, Splunk, Java, Python)

· At least 5 years of relevant experience in a DevOps, TechOps, or Site Reliability Engineering role at a technology firm

· At least 5 years of operating production systems

· Solid working knowledge of SQL

· Solid understanding of Networking

· Solid working knowledge of AppDynamics Monitoring tool

· Solid working knowledge of Grafana tool

· Ability to learn new technologies in-depth.

· Continuously push the production standard forward and develop a customer-centric culture and strong production processes within the company.

· Provide technical solutions for alerts and incoming escalated tickets from our customers, including extensive troubleshooting and root cause assessment.

· Find workarounds and solutions for technical challenges - doing whatever it takes for the customer to get the best service out of our product.

· Knowledge of systems administration, software development, scripting and building automation tools, and a thorough understanding of the TCP/IP stack and the Unix environment are a must.

  • Familiarity with ITIL/DEVOPS/SRE principals.
  • Familiar with some or more of the following technologies: JIRA, Hive, HBase, Spark, Hadoop, Java, Javascript, BigData systems.
  • Experience in troubleshooting software and systems in a distributed, internet-scale Linux environment
  • Excellent problem solving and thought leadership skills.
  • Strong sense of ownership and the ability to work independently with vague requirements.
  • Team attitude with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Required Education

Masters or bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or related work experience
