R&D Operations and Finance Associate - REMOTE!!

Our client, a start up Life Science organization experiencing a growth phase, is seeking an R& D Operations and Finance Associate for a 4-6 month remote opportunity! This position has direct exposure to Director level staff and is a vital support role within the development side of their organization.

Finance Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Finance and the Development teams and vendors/consultants
  • Create and manage purchase orders within accounting system (NetSuite)
  • Support Development team in quarterly accrual process with the Finance team
  • Partner with Finance on budgeting
  • Review all quarterly actuals with Development team and Finance
  • Pull miscellaneous reports from accounting system (NetSuite)

Contracts Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Development team
  • Ensure standard contract terms are in contracts based on Company guidelines (net payment days, termination clauses, etc.)
  • Working with legal team, create new Master Service Agreements (MSAs) Statements of Work (SOWs), etc.
  • Maintain contract status in Excel
  • Potentially assist with implementation of new (Agiloff) contracts management software

Research Materials (and potentially clinical sample management) Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and track domestic and global shipments with vendors
  • Troubleshoot shipment problems (e.g., getting products through customs)
  • Work with the Finance team to ensure that materials are properly insured

Job Requirements, Skills and Competencies

  • 3+ years finance experience (accounting or FP&A) from within a pharmaceutical/biotech R&D setting (corporate ideal)
  • Contracts management experience (consulting agreements, SOWs, CDAs, NDAs, MSAs)
  • Experience with or an ability and eagerness to learn managing logistics of research material
  • Incumbent will provide training if lacking the logistics experience, but you have the finance and contracts experience
