REMOTE ROLE.

NOTE: THIS IS A CONTRACT TO HIRE POSITION. CLIENT WILL NOT SPONSOR WORK VISA.

One of our clients in Los Angeles area is looking for a Cloud (Azure) Data Engineer with the following skills and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and operate data pipelines
  • Propose, design, and implement process improvements: automating and optimizing our infrastructure for greater scalability, applying modern approaches
  • Deliver data sets into a format ready for analysis, meeting both functional and technical business requirements
  • Participate in data management and data quality initiatives
  • Maintain business partner relationships, and stay current on data engineering technologies
  • Monitor conformance to data standards for quality, security, and data lineage
  • Develop and execute test plans for data pipelines
  • Follows change management policies and procedures
  • Resolve incidents and problems as they arise

Required Skills and Attributes

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience with data engineering
  • Proficient with SQL, Python, Azure Data Factory, Git, DevOps
  • Experienced member of cross-functional teams: can communicate equally as well with a database administrator as a business analyst
  • Experience implementing, monitoring, and improving data pipelines, architectures, and data sets
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets
  • Experience with a variety of data storage technologies (structured, unstructured, data lake, etc.)
  • Pragmatic approach to problem solving,
  • Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
  • Experience integrating cloud data services
  • Independent worker who can collaborate with geographically distributed teammates
  • Fast learner when facing new problems and situations; thrives when challenged
  • Keen listening, written and verbal skills. Provides clear, concise, and complete communications
  • Effective problem-solving ability and strong analytical skills; can see underlying or hidden problems and patterns; looks beyond the obvious
