Senior Accountant - Hybrid

We are assisting a publicly held Boston based pharmaceutical company with their search for a Senior Accountant to join their team. This is a hybrid role working from home the majority of the time and requiring a few days/month onsite in the Boston office.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform month end accounting close process including working with cost center stakeholders monthly to align PO accruals, tracking and amortizing capitalized software development costs, preparing journal entries, reconciling cash, balance sheet, income statement accounts, etc.
  • Research issues that flow through to the general ledger from subledgers and systems and interact with colleagues as needed to resolve any problem and prevent future recurrence
  • Proactively stay current on technical accounting and reporting matters under US GAAP and IFRS
  • Assist with the semi-monthly payroll processing and prepare payroll journal entries for final approval
  • Assist in implementing procedures to streamline US monthly closing and other financial activities
  • Support for various budget and forecast updates Internal Control, Audit and Tax:
  • Work in close relationship with Group and US Internal Control and External/Corporate Auditor to perform duties assigned to ensure company's SOX compliance
  • Prepare schedules and worksheets assigned to support financial statement audit and tax return preparation Information Technology:
  • Work closely with IT and other stakeholders to facilitate the implementation of the ERP and other systems locally
  • Take a role in the maintenance and upgrade of the local accounting and reporting systems
  • Participate in preparation of financial information for due diligence and financing events of the Group
  • Support the Business Development and M&A teams, as needed
  • Execute on special projects

Technical Skills:

  • Bachelors degree (Accounting Preferred)
  • CPA (Preferred)
  • 5+ years of General Ledger experience
  • Oracle (Preferred)
