The Senior Accountant will play a key part in the organization's finance team. The ideal candidate will be organized, motivated and will thrive in a growing organization. Additionally, this person will have the ability to work in areas beyond traditional accounting that can include acquisition support, system implementations, fixed asset management, treasury and audit support. This position is onsite 3 days/week with the opportunity to work from home 2 days/week.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform monthly close activities, including preparing journal entries.
* Prepare monthly/quarterly account reconciliations.
* Assist with assembling the financial reporting package by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
* Assist in financial due diligence for acquisitions.
* Prepare detailed analytics on Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts.
* Assist in the drafting of accounting policies prepared in accordance with GAAP.
* Assist in the multi-year implementation of a new general ledger software package.
* Update the monthly dashboard - final results, key metrics, and financial ratios.
* Assist with the coordination of the annual financial statement audit with external auditors.
* Prepare ad-hoc financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
* Help document standard operating procedures, as necessary.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
* CPA or MBA preferred
* Excellent knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
* Above average oral and written communication skills.
* Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and skills in database management and record keeping.
